I have reviewed the vast majority of your posts and have found this one to be illogical. It implies that the U.S. should pull its troops from Iraq, immediately. Such posts are unrealistic and counter productive to any real progress being made in Iraq.

The reasons this is so is that the U.S. army is stuck in Iraq for the forseeable future. This situation has nothing to do with Iraq's internal security, but everything to do with external security. The vast majority of Americans would love to pull our troops out and leave the ungrateful "majority" of Iraqis to their fate. Unfortunately, this is not advisable because doing so would leave your country completely defenseless.

After such a pull out, the Turks could easily roll tanks through Northern Iraq into to Kirkuk to "protect" their aggrieved Turkomen brothers and quash any Kurdish aspirations for a Greater Kurdistan. Once those troops are in place, it is unlikely that they would ever be withdrawn. The model for this type of intervention is, obviously, the Syrian role in Lebanon.

The Iranians could also attempt a similar stunt and occupy Iraq's southern oil fields. Under this scenario, Iraq would be left a "rump" state with all its natural resources stolen by it neighbors. For these reasons, until the Iraqi army can be built up enough to defend itself, the U.S. army is stuck in your country. This is why I ask that you refrain from any further posts along this line until the Iraq army is bought up to strength.

Of course, once the Iraqi Army is rebuilt, your sovereign, democratically elected government can decide to ask the U.S. army to leave. Some governments have done so (like the Philipines), and we have complied with their wishes. Still other countries, like Germany and Japan, have made the political decision to let our troops stay so that they can spend less of their own resouces on defense. In the future, the decision will be up to Iraq.

Instead, Iraqis get their information from others. For about a third, it's pan-Arabic television such as the Al-Jazeera and Al-Arabiya satellite news channels."

So, amazingly, after a mere 1 year of wall-to-wall anti-American propoganda by Al Jazeera about the US occupation, some Iraqis have responded in kind.

One wonders if Germans would have had the same poll numbers in 1946 towards the US occupiers, had we let goebbels stick around and run the radio stations back then in germany.

To tell you the truth i'm tired of people tlaking about how ungrateful the iraqis are.It's not like they pleaded with us to come into their countrie anyways,and altough yes Saddam is an evil ruler things almost seem to have gotten worse since hie removal since there are more fire fights with u.s. troop and more civilian causalities.Maybe when Americans learn that they don't always know whats best for everyone we'll stop having these kinds of problems
